Interiors Roundup – New Nurseries!

Happy Thursday Everybody!

As you lovely readers may know, we love to discuss interiors & are fans of all sorts of design for the home. While big areas like kitchens & living rooms are certainly important & a delight to decorate, we’re here to make sure we don’t forget about those other special little spaces that make our houses feel like homes.

Today we’re focusing on an extra special space that definitely deserves lots of love and care – your baby’s nursery! We’ve written before about Rachael’s nursery ideas for little Blayke & now we’re expanding our hunt for input from other creatives. Our good friends at Blinds Supermarket have actually written a great blog post all around nurseries & have even contacted a number of great design bloggers to see what they think on nursery prep & décor! Here are a few of their fab comments around colour, their design timeline, & their top tips for finishing a nursery:

On colour: The classic choice of blue for boys and pink for girls still stands true for many of our bloggers. Aby, from youbabymemummy.com, says: “We chose pink and white – we wanted the nursery to be feminine without being too babyish.”

On their timeline: Emma Button, from www.mellowmummy.co.uk, says: “Having a plan for the nursery helped me focus my nesting instincts in the run up to baby’s arrival. Knowing that it was finished gave me a feeling of comfort; it was one less thing to worry about once baby was here!”

A top tip: Alex, from www.bump-to-baby.com, says it’s all about creating a nursery that coordinates: “Take your time, research different ideas on sites like Pinterest and do the room as a whole so that it all matches at the end.”

From some past nursery posts, we’ve gathered some comments from Rachael, too! She said, “I’ve always had an eclectic taste & never been a fan of everything ‘matching perfectly’. Posts around her unique décor choices can be found here & here! And, like Emma from Mellow Mummy, she also prepared her nursery in advance, commenting that there was “so much to organise & lots of things to plan” & that she was “really enjoy the adventure that’s ahead.”

Thank you so much to our fellow creatives at Blinds Supermarket for their fabulous blog post & we hope we’ve inspired you all today to get creative with your nursery or toddler space!
