Tuesday Inspo – Marvellous Mood Boards!

Welcome back to the Rachael Taylor blog for some more fabulous inspo!

As Rachael loves to share her design process on Instagram, we thought it would be fun to explore one of our all time favourite parts of design creation: mood boarding!

In a few words, mood boards are a collection of your favourite things, arranged together to evoke a style or mood. Your selection can be based on colours, textures, fabrics, photos, or a wider combination of these & more! The end result is a wonderfully varied board filled with design inspiration for your ongoing or future work.

While mood boards were traditionally made in a physical format, nowadays many of us opt for the digital version. By using programs like Photoshop & Illustrator, our mood boards can include almost anything we can think of, making the options truly endless for us creatives!

Rachael is a huge advocate of mood boards too & if you’ve ever taken any of the Make It In Design e-courses, you’ll know the many advantages of planning out your creative & artistic mood before you begin to design. Not only that, it’s an incredibly fun process we think everyone should try.
