Fashion Fabric – Top 1 – Cadence I made a promise to myself this year to branch out & try new things with my designs, so when I finally decided to get my designs printed onto fabric & have them sewn up into unique dresses & tops, I was a little nervous & hugely excited! I knew I wanted to use my popular ‘Bloom Freedom’ design for a fashion fabric but it was tricky when deciding on a style with the vibrancy of the yellow & the fine detail of the floral motif. I love modern & retro styles but I was wary of the design looking too traditional & outdated. I thought the design & colour leant itself well to chiffon & I had an image in my mind of a floaty, 70’s style top. This is what I briefed my amazing seamstress & I was so amazed with the result! Again another huge thank you to Fashion Formula for their amazing print quality & to Elizabeth from The Create Workshop for such fantastic work on the sewing & making. After a meeting in my studio with my studio manager Kelly & PR assistant Holly (& a couple of wines), we thought it would be a nice idea to work through the alphabet & name the designs as they are made. Moving on to C, I introduce you to… Cadence! Featuring my ‘Bloom Freedom’ design. Links Fashion Formula The Create Workshop You can always see sneak peeks of what I’m up to on my Instagram.
