Artist Review – Nikki Monaghan

I’m thrilled to be able to share some inspirational art and design with you every Tuesday morning as Rachael’s ‘Art and Creative Writer’. This week I’m featuring the quirky landscape paintings of Nikki Monaghan.

Nikki lives in Scotland and after originally training in printed textiles, she now concentrates on creating beautiful impressions of her local scenery. She uses acrylic, collage and oil pastel which she scrapes into revealing other hidden layers and this technique, along with her use of pattern and texture, create evocative landscapes with a whimsical sense of fun.
