Six Live Briefs from REAL COMPANIES! Over the last few weeks we have been revealing the contributing companies to our Live Briefs in Module 4 of ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design (the e-course)’. Module 4 is an advanced seven week course in which you will learn everything you need to know about building your professional portfolio! Below is a round-up of the truly amazing companies that we have announced as part of Module 4. Our very first Live Brief reveal announced wonderful textile company ‘Dashwood Studio’ would be joining us on Module 4! The UK based studio produces beautiful, design-led fabric collections, including three of our talented ABSPD Alumni; Phyllida Coroneo, Wendy Kendall & Bethan Janine! Our second announcement revealed that modern, think-outside-the-box home furnishings company DENY Designs will be collaborating with us for a Module 4 Live Brief! DENY Designs is a company that really shows the impact & power of surface pattern design & the range it can have. Currently DENY Design produces over 30 home-wares products with plans to expand even more! It is wonderful to see the versatility you can get from one design. Their team of artists even includes some of our ABSPD Alumni such as Loni Harris, Wendy Kendall, Tammie Bennett & Vy La! Rachael has collaborated with DENY Designs herself & cannot sing their praises enough! UK based greeting card publisher Card Crazy became our third Live Brief contributor in our amazing line up. Card Crazy invest a lot of time in designing beautiful greetings cards. They love to celebrate & showcase their designers ensuring that they share in the success of their designs! Rachael loves her own collection with Card Crazy & we are very excited for them to share their Live Brief! Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine joined us a our fourth Live Brief announcement! Cardmaking & Papercraft was the first cardmaking title to open up the market nine years ago & are still the UK’s number one cardmaking magazine. They showcase the UK’s best papercraft designers & the hottest new trends, deliver the latest techniques & give their readers high quality, high value cover gifts every issue. Our fifth Live Brief reveal announced that prestigious stationery company Crane & Co. will be providing a Module 4 Live Brief! Crane & Co. has been dedicated to the art of classic correspondence for more than two centuries. A family-owned company since 1801, Crane is the USA’s oldest stationer. Before the United States of America were united, & still today, Crane was the choice of Revolutionary patriots, presidents, first ladies, kings and queens, captains of industry, heads of state & just about any celebrity who has stepped on the red carpet. In 2012 Crane also acquired William Arthur which creates beautifully printed, contemporary stationery that turns once-in-a-lifetime occasions into lasting memories. For our sixth reveal we announced that innovative wallpaper design company Graham & Brown would be joining us to help create a Live Brief for Module 4. Since their founding in 1946 Graham & Brown started a wallpaper revolution, built up a solid team of employees & customers, launched the now famous ‘Superfresco’ brand & created associations with some of the world’s best designers such as Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Julien Macdonald, Amy Butler, hemingwaydesign, Marcel Wanders & most recently Kelly Hoppen. This is an amazing opportunity to gain REAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE from amazing briefs along with the chance to present your work to exciting, well-established & innovative companies! Many of our graduates are now big players within the design industry & we’re proud to say we have really nurtured some amazing talent!
