New RT Team Member – Say Hello to Holly!

Happy Friday lovely followers! It’s been exciting times at RT HQ as we have expanded our team to include our lovely new ‘PR & Marketing Assistant’, Holly Wells! We are delighted to have such a fab new addition to our little team.

Here is a little more about Holly who be working on our social media & blog:

Holly Rosemarie Wells is a 24 year old aspiring artist originally from rural Newfoundland, Canada, who is now living in lovely Manchester. She has lived in the UK for nearly three years, where she is surrounded by her partner & a wealth of family & friends. While her main passion is her artwork (drawing, painting, restoring furniture, graphic design & illustration), she is also passionate about the literary arts & enjoys writing & reading. Holly also loves writing & recording music, travelling whenever she can, socialising & meeting new people & generally being spontaneous.

5 facts about Holly:

1) She absolutely loves browsing charity shops & vintage markets for antique furniture & dishware.

2) She’s been told she’s a great cook, but a terrible baker.

3) She placed in every art / design competition she has ever entered & was awarded “Most Creative” in her final year of school.

4) She’s a huge Lord of the Rings fan; so much that she has a tattoo of the White Tree of Gondor & a dog named Frodo.

5) In her spare time she likes to learn computer programming languages. She’d like to someday build her own website from scratch.

On working for the RT studio:

“I wanted to work for Rachael Taylor designs for a few reasons. Aside from being a fan of her design work, I’ve been longing to be part of a creative team for a long time; to be able to do this professionally is pretty much a dream come true for me. I am eager to learn more all the time, & as a creative, I am excited to be able to share my ideas in a welcoming, artistic environment. I also love that Rachael’s work always promotes happiness & positivity & I really look forward to helping her spread that message in a creative way.”

Her favourite product in the RT shop:

“Right now I think my favourite item in the store is the Mosaic Madness Desk. I am a lover of unique, designer furniture & really into geographic prints at the moment. I love how the colourful, loud pattern contrasts with the minimalist design of the desk. I think it would perfectly brighten up my office space. It also has a really neat dual function of being a dry erase board. Who wouldn’t love that?”

Holly’s favourite colour: 

Robin’s egg blue.

Holly’s favourite place in the world:

“My all-time favourite place in the world is on the edge of Signal Hill, in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It’s one of the most Easterly points in all of North America, with a beautiful view overlooking the city & the very blue Atlantic Ocean (towards England!). To watch a sunset there is just spectacular, especially when there are whales & icebergs about.”

Holly’s favourite artist:

“Although I’ve got a lot of different art styles that I love, I absolutely love hand-drawn illustration. One of my favourite design artists right now is Susan Driscoll. Her illustrations often feature organic subjects with vibrant bursts of colour & are usually quite minimalist. She keeps it simple but interesting & I really enjoy that. Current favourite illustration & current favourite pattern.”
