Interiors Roundup – Fun Festive Touches!

Happy Thursday All!

Welcome back to the Rachael Taylor blog! We hope you’ve all had a fantastic week so far.

We’re so excited that December is just around the corner – now that we’ve enjoyed the fireworks & bonfire night, we’re looking forward to the next part of the festive season, especially the decor! November is a great transition into the Christmas period, as we can start to drop the subtle hints that the festivities are on the way. This is a great idea for those of us who just cannot wait to decorate but don’t want to go all out too soon.

There are so many ways you can touch on the festive spirit in a subtle & stylish way & today we want to explore some of the ways you can get festive a little earlier (while keeping Christmas special).

Fairy Lights / Bauble Bunting:

If you’re anything like us here in the RT studio, you LOVE fairy lights & hanging decorations. Fairy lights are a great way to add festive spirit & cosiness without going full Christmas!

Neutral Palette Decorations:

Neutral coloured wreaths, candles & textiles can all bring a wintery & festive feeling to your home, even without the reds, greens & golds. These colours evoke images of frost, wintery forest scenes & snow.

Snippets of Trees & Boughs:

If you feel it’s too early to put up the whole Christmas tree, why not bring in a few boughs or snippets from a spruce or evergreen? Placing them in lovely little jars or across the mantle is a fab way to make things feel festive in the lead up to Christmas.

Festive motifs:

There are so many Christmas motifs that we can spot during the festive period, but some are more subtle than others. Stags heads, stars & snowflakes are some that fit the general winter theme & will look lovely from November through to January.

Below are some fantastic examples of these decor ideas found on Instagram! We hope we’ve inspired you to get festive this November! Happy decorating!
