Rachael Taylor in 2013!

Wow, it’s already the end of January in 2014! Last year also went by in a fun but fast blur so we would like to take a moment to reflect on all the amazing & exciting things that happened at RT HQ in 2013.

We started off the year busily preparing for Home London while also exhibiting at Printsource, New York through the Lilla Rogers Studio. You can read all about our debut at Home in Issue 3 of MOYO Magazine! When exhibiting at Home we launched an exciting range of products including our new aprons & limited edition lampshades & cushions.

In 2013 we also introduced our fantastic blogging team bringing our readers even more gorgeous daily inspiration & creativity. Find out more about Hannah, Emily & MaJo in our previous post!

In May we had another brilliant opportunity to exhibit through the Lilla Rogers Studio at Surtex, New York! Rachael introduced a whole new portfolio of work including brand new typography & her popular ‘Peacock Feathers’ design which you can find in our ‘Pattern & Illustration Look Book’ on Blurb!

Also in 2013, Rachael travelled to Berlin thanks to the help of UKTI which you can see more of in Issue 5 of MOYO. She also travelled to the US, collecting loads of inspiration & meeting tons of new people from ABSPD students to her very own agent Lilla! Rachael also got to teach at MICA & was truly inspired by the talented illustration students.

In June Rachael became a Mrs! Her wedding really reflected her bright & fun style & resulted in our brand new wedding & party collection including our patterned heart decorations & fun decorative signs! Her wedding was even featured on the popular site Rock My Wedding! Rachael also collected some gorgeous inspiration when on Honeymoon in the Maldives. Amazingly, while Rachael was getting married, her work was also shown at the Las Vegas Licensing Expo!

Soon after we had a fun new photo shoot for our new products set in an gorgeous urban environment! Our photographers, the fabulous duo navyblur, really did an amazing job! You can see a selection of our new photography in our ‘Urban Look Book’ on Blurb.

We also had several lovely features in magazines such as Mollie Makes, House Beautiful & Papercrafter!

2013 was also the year that the MOYO team celebrated the 1 year anniversary of ‘MOYO Magazine’ with Issue 5, our biggest & best yet with so much pattern & design goodness to share! In further celebration of pattern design & supporting our wonderful students, alumni & other designers from across the globe we also launched ‘Make it in Design’ & ‘The MOYO Directory’, both of which invite designers to share, support & create with each other!

In 2013 ABPSD (the e-course) went from strength to strength & because of popular demand Rachael & Beth announced the brand new Module 4: Building Your Professional Portfolio! Module 4 looks to be crammed with invaluable content including some truly incredible live briefs from a hand picked selection of prestigious companies! It’s looks to be another fun year in 2014 as we have already exhibited at Printsource, New York for a second time! 2013 also ended with Rachael’s first ever book ’20 Ways To Doodle’ going pre-sale & it will be out in May of this year! We have also launched our brand new website & are ready to get stuck into Module 4 & make sure to look out for Issue 6 of MOYO Magazine coming in April! In May it will also be two years since I (Kelly) started working with Rachael & the MIID team! We can’t wait to see what 2014 brings!
