Artist Review – Yellena

Yellena is an artist & illustrator based in Portland, Oregon in the US that showcases her work  in galleries across the globe & has worked for companies such as Anthropologie & Nike. Her work has been described as “colourful arrangements of organic shapes and tangled lines (which) are at once floral and alien, organic and sci-fi, crafty and fantastic.” Within each piece, Yellena tries to “create an intimate world that posesses its own ethos and its own emotional range”. Preferring pens, inks, markers & acrylics, she combines complex abstract forms into dazzling images which take on lives of their own.
