Fashion Fabric – Dress 2 – Bea I made a promise to myself this year to branch out & try new things with my designs, so when I finally decided to get my designs printed onto fabric & have them sewn up into unique dresses, I was a little nervous & hugely excited! For my second dress I wanted to go a little simpler than the first design I had chosen & I’ve always thought that my ‘Flower Bomb’ design would look lovely on a dress fabric. The design has a lot more space which allows the motifs to really stand out. Again I was blown away by the quality & service I received from Fashion Formula, & honestly can’t sing their praises enough. For this design I chose a textured crepe material, as recommended by Alex at Fashion Formula, & it’s such a wonderful material that really makes my design pop. Again I used Elizabeth from The Create Workshop to sew up my dress design & the brief for this dress was a little different than the previous. I adore maxi dresses so it was a no brainer to go with that style again but I wanted the shoulders to be a bit unique & different this time. The cold shoulder trend is so popular at the moment & I really wanted to incorporate this into the design. Elizabeth did such a wonderful job with the brief & I even ended up wearing the dress to a wedding! After a meeting in my studio with my studio manager Kelly & PR assistant Holly (& a couple of wines), we thought it would be a nice idea to work through the alphabet & name the designs as they are made. Moving on to B, I introduce you to… Bea! Featuring my ‘Flower Bomb’ design. Links Fashion Formula The Create Workshop You can always see sneak peeks of what I’m up to on my Instagram.
