Plant Girl Iris – Beginning of Spring Update For those of you following my plant & gardening adventures as I volunteer once a week at Arley Hall Gardens, here’s a little beginning of Spring update! I’ve finally managed to get back to my happy place after taking a break over Winter & then being pulled away by work commitments & I was so excited to see what had changed & what was blooming. If you’d like to keep up to date with my plant adventures you can follow me over on Instagram @plantgirliris or keep an eye here on the blog. I photographed some epic salad the gardeners are growing & I captured a beautiful Camellia last week. I love how things come together in the most unusual ways as I recently had a lovely exciting phone call from my friends at Arley Hall Gardens about a potential secret mission linked to an epic garden designer & the RHS. Oh my! It would be a dream come true to see my designs used in this market, it’s like they read my mind! I’m a happy plant girl right now. Fingers, toes & everything crossed, please think positive happy thoughts for me folks! I’m also now trusted with the tractor! They know I drive a T6 van so they were pretty chilled about it. DAY MADE! I love being a botanical girl at Arley, it’s only once a week that I get to volunteer there (work schedule permitting). The main reason I love it so much is because I adore gardening & learn a lot, I also love working outdoors & the endless plant inspiration fuels my design work too & as you can imagine the views & gardens are pretty epic around the Arley grounds. If you haven’t been before it’s a great place to visit & it’s located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. They have had the likes of Disney film there & it’s the main set for the TV show Peaky Blinders. We’ve had some glorious days of weather in Liverpool recently & I’ve taken advantage of flexitime at work to have a few hours out in my own garden. The White Jasmine in my planters is finally growing & beginning to wrap around the wooden trellis (its only taken almost 2 years). I’ve been doing what I can to disguise the back of the ugly garage wall & I will finally get around to painting a mural on the other side this Summer! I opted for less than subtle colour choices (as usual) with the paints but I love that my bespoke planters stand out! I can’t wait to share with you all of the growth & beauty when it’s officially Spring. Watch this space! @plantgirliris #plantgirliris Next Article Previous Article
